Yesterday afternoon we made delicious pancakes. I whipped the cream while my mum and sister made the mix. I asked my mum politely if I could go to the shop so that we could have jam on it too, then she nodded her head because she was to busy reading the recipe. I grabbed my shoes and hastily walked to the shop with $10 in my hand.
On the way I saw my cousin Apii with her brother and they were going to the park. I told her that we were making pancakes and she said that she wish that she was there. I then waved good bye and stopped for a moment as the cars drove past me. I walked into the shop and couldn't wait one second until i looked at the price. $5.50 just for a jam. I thought to myself, should I grab it or leave it. After a minute later I just grabbed and waited for someone to serve me at the counter. After getting $4.50 change, I travelled back home and quickly ran inside.
Yum. I could smell the sweet pancakes cooking away in the pan. I sat at the table and my mum served it with delicious things that we could put on it. I had 3 and I felt like a pig that ate to much. We asked mum if we could have some more but she said for us to wait until Wednesday so that she can get all the ingredients.
I had so much fun making pancakes and I can't wait for Wednesday.
RECIPE
1 cup Champion standard plain flour 3 quarters of a cup of milk
1 eighth teaspoon salt water
1 egg
Sift flour and salt into a bowl. Add egg, mixing to combine. Gradually beat in milk, mixing to a smooth batter. Chill for 1 hour. Stir. The batter will thicken in standing. Add a little water if necessary to bring it back to the original consistency. Heat a greased pancake pan or small frying pan. Pour in just enough batter to cover the base of the pan. Cook until golden on underside. Release with knife around edges. Flip or turn and cook other side. Stack pancakes as you coo. Serve with whipped cream, jam, golden syrup or just original.
