Facts About The Planets In Our Solar System

Mercury:
1. Mercury is the hottest planet in the solar system.
2. Out of all the other planets, Mercury is the closest planet from the sun.
3. Believe it or not, Mercury has no atmosphere.
4. Mercury has no moons.

Venus:
1. Venus is a dry planet
2. This planet is the second planet from the sun.
3. Venus has the most volcanoes in our atmosphere.
4. Venus has no moons like Mercury.

Earth:
1. Us humans live on Earth.
2. Earth has one moon named Luna.
3. Humans can survive on Earth because the Earths temperature, weather, and atmosphere.
4. The diameter of Earth is 7,926 miles.

Mars:
1. Mars has two moons.
2. It is the fourth planet from the sun.
3. Mars temperature is more like the Earths than any other planet in the solar system.
4. Mars is sometimes referred to the ‘Red planet’.

Jupiter:
1. The the largest planet in our solar system.
2. Jupiter has more gravity than Earth.
3. Jupiter actually has 3 rings.
4. It has 50 official moons and 12 provisional.

Saturn:
1. Saturn is the second largest planet.
2. It is the least dense planet in our solar system.
3. Saturn’s beautiful rings 169,800 miles wide.
4. This planet has 53 official moons and 9 provisional.


Uranus:
1. Uranus is a gas planet.
2. Uranus orbits around the sun on it’s side unlike the other planets they spin around.
3. t was believed long ago that a giant object smashed into this planet.
4. Uranus has rings and they are made out of black dust particles and large rocks.

Neptune:
1. Neptune was discovered by Johann Galle and Heinrich D’Arrest in the year 1846.
2. It is the smallest of the four gas giants in our solar system.
3. Neptune has six rings that circle the planet.
4. It has that we know of.

(Pluto):
1. Pluto is the smallest planet in our solar system.
2. In 1930 a 11-year-old girl named the planet Pluto.
3. It has three moons.
4. Pluto is classified as Dwarf planet.
