The First Day At Camp

Sprinting through the door I was ready for a fantastic week at camp.

The year 7-8 students camp was on Monday 14TH-Wednesday 16TH March and they were camping on the field at Point England school.

My first activity was team building with Mr Barks. The activities that our group( THINKERZ) participated in was the blowout, channel run, mark it up, and the one with the box. It was really exciting and funny when people kept falling over.

Now it was time to put up our own tents with Mrs Nua. I was sleeping with Racheal, Tracey, and Vaine. Our tent was one of the biggest tents. It felt different sleeping in a tent because it was cold at night. I would prefer to sleep at home, but it was alot of fun.

Next, we travelled to the street (Intermediate building) to help with the hangi. Ms Tito was in charge. First we had to wash our hands. There was pumpkin, kumara, chicken, potatoes, and stuffing all together in a foiled plate. With the stuffing we had to get some bread and tear it apart into little pieces. Some of us were eating the stuffing.

After our great work of the hangi prep we got dressed in our togs and were off to go kayaking. First Mr Burt showed us where our goal was to go around. (the green triangle). Kayaking was a bit scary because I was worried that I would fall out of the kayak.

My highlight was Kayaking because it was really a fun experience. I hope we get to go kayaking again. I felt like camp was wonderful and had a fantastic time.
