My Term 3 Highlights

“Yeah” I shouted with a lot of excitement because it was almost the end of term 3.

During lunch I thought all about the exhausting and fun things I had done during the term. I had thought about the tiring sports that I had participated in like AFL (Australian Football League) and badminton.

Tamaki Tech: At Tamaki I really learnt a lot about electronic devices and why they are dangerous. My favourite device that I made was the map of Raro Tonga because it was really fun and quick to make. I think Mr Maholtra is a great teacher because he pushes you to try and finish. The other things that I put together was A simple circuit and a burglary alarm.

My sisters 6 birthday: My sisters birthday was spectacular because we had a lollie scramble, picnic and a gigantic chocolate cake that looked like a muddy hill. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the cake but then my mum told me to eat properly. Afterwards I was extremely full and then went to bed.

Cross country: Lastly was cross country. I really like to do cross country because it makes you get fit and is a great thing to do on a beautiful sunny day. On the other hand it is very tiring if you had to run 3 km like the year 7 students or worst the year 8 students at our school.

This term I had a lot of fun and I can't wait for next term to begin.

Similes

We are learning about similes so we can use them in our writing. Here a some simple ones that our class and I have come up with.

The baby is as noisy as the traffic.
The baby is as cute as a bunny.
The baby’s skin is as smooth as silk.

The monkey is hairy like a lions main.
The monkey is as funny as a joke.
The monkey is as small as a teddy bear.

The car is shiny like a new tire.
The car is as fast as a cheetah.
The car is as clean as a mansion.

As brave as a person who feels nervous.
As brave as spider man.
As brave as a solider.

As smooth as a fluffy blanket.
As smooth as a bird’s feathers.
As smooth as a baby’s skin.

As soft a pillow.
As soft as a bean bag.
As soft as a plastic bag.

As happy as a bird sawing through the sky.
As happy as a teacher who had a great day.
As happy as a little girl on her birthday.

As loud as ecstatic fans at a rugby match.
As loud as the All Blacks performing the haka.
As loud as our school on the last day of the term.

As warm as a heater.
As warm as a blanket.
As warm as the islands in the summer.

All Blacks vs Small Blacks

Look at this great picture that I have edited. Who do you think will win the All Blacks or Small Blacks from our school?

Go The All Blacks

Yes the Rugby World Cup game is going to be tonight. All Blacks against Tonga at Eden Park. I have colored in a picture that is representing the All Blacks. I hope you like it and "GO THE ALL BLACKS!"
