On Tuesday after morning tea room’s 19, 20, 21 and 22 went out for silly sports down at the bottom field. The aim of the game was to have fun and enjoy ourselves.
Our first activity was with Mrs Lagitupu. We played a game of ball tiggy and were all in teams. In this game we weren’t allowed to move when we had the ball. My team had a perfect strategy that was to spread out and aim at targeting one person at a time. We were up against the blue team and they had to try and tag us. We were running all over the place ducking and dodging the ball. I think this game was all about communication and co-operation .
After we had finished we were all worn out and were hoping that the next game with Miss T didn’t involve much running. We all walked slowly to her and saw some different sized balls and
hoops. As we were wondering what we were going to do in this activity Miss T asked for two strong boys who could hold the slingshot. That's when she told us that we were going to use the slingshot to throw the balls inside the hoops. We sat down in a line and waited for the next person to go up and have a turn. I was up first and felt nervous because I might of hit someone. I pulled it back slowly and let it go hoping it would land in the hoop. But it didn’t. A few students and its was Stevie’s turn. He had hit Nathaniel and we earned 10 points. It was so funny and Ms T found it funny too. At the end of this activity we had only scored 10 points. I think this activity was about accuracy and support.
Now we were starting to have fun and we went to Mr Harris. He told us to untie the knots that the other class had made out of the ribbons. We had to walk to the end cone back with a spoon and a ball but there was a catch. We had to tie the ribbon around one of our leg and our partners leg. I was with Stephanie and we had strategy that was to march but march slowly and concentrate on the ball. When we dropped it we raced back to the start line and started again, we were not happy but had heaps of fun. This game was about team work and control.
Our last activity for the day was with Mrs Nua. We saw a bucket of water and a sponge and immediately knew this was a sponge race. Mrs Nua explained to us the rules and said to us that Miss Shermatic will put us in teams. We had a great idea which was to not squeeze the sponge. We got so wet and even some people drank the water. (GROSS) At the end of each challenge we thought we had won but it was the purple. This challenge was about team work and having fun.
I had a great day doing silly sports and I hope we can do it again.

In The Life Caravan
Yeah! It was time for the life caravan and I was really excited because we got to learn about interesting things.
On Friday the 5th August 2011 our class room 21 walked down to the life caravan to learn about drugs, friends, puberty and how your body works. We had to line up from the tallest to smallest students. I was the smallest girl .Our class walked up the stairs, four students at a time and sat down waiting for everyone to be quiet.
Lynne asked us what we had learnt last time we were here. We said that we had learnt about how some drugs are legal and illegal, your friends and other things last year.
Afterwards we watched a DVD about about people who use drugs and how your body system works. A man named Trevor told us about the different stages in life and not to worry.
It was really cool getting to match the words with the drugs because if you didn’t know what
the drug looks like then you will learn about it and not get it and make the wrong decision. I had a lot of fun in the life caravan and I have learnt a lot too.
An Awesome Day at Cross Country
As the bell rang I quickly lined up because we were going to run a 3km race for cross country. Our class walked to the courts where all the year 7/8 students were waiting for the race to begin. Mr Jacobsen explained to us where we had to go. He said that if you get hurt then just sit aside and wait for an adult.
My age group was up first and I felt nervous. As we were walking up to the start line I felt butterflies rumbling in my stomach. All I could think about was what would happen if I came last or had an asthma attack? Then I heard the word GO! and I jogged with Jarna to the other side of the field. As we got to Mr Umu I started to slow down and that's when I knew I had to just start to power walk.
As I got near Mr Harris I saw Aliza. I asked her "what's the matter?" but Mr Harris told me to carry on. I followed the track to go to Taniwha street where Mrs Clarke was. The mud was gluey and hard to run in and the bad thing was that I had a stitch and started to slacken.
As I was running towards the finish line I felt relieved because the race was almost over. Huffing and puffing, I finally had reached the finish line and was glad not to come last this year. I hope I do better next year.

A Great Day AT The Beach
It was a sunny Wednesday morning on the 20th of July. Me and my family rode on our bikes to the Point England beach for the day.
We rode through the reserve. There were a lot of stones that almost made me crash and do you know what else?, there was a huge black dog that gave me a fright. As we were riding on the grass I was exhausted and had to get of my bike. I felt like such a loser because they were all waiting for me. After a while we arrived at the park and we were all fatigued.
We relaxed against a tree while my baby brother and sister played on the park. Their so lucky because their miniature feet don’t need to pedal the whole way there. Anyway, me and my sister walked down to the beach while my mum and dad watched my brother and sister on the playground. As I was walking I heard Taeshell (sister) scream. I asked her whats the matter she said that there was a crab. I was laughing and chased her towards the water.
My mum yelled time to go and we jumped on our bikes and rode back home. I had a really great time at the beach and next holidays I know that there is going to be more moaning and a lot more pedaling to do.
