All About Me

Hi my name is Chelsea and I like going shopping and playing with my cousins. My favourite animals are cats, dogs and fish. When it rains a like to sit down with my family and play the PlayStation.

I go to Point England school in Glen Innes, Auckland. I’m in room 21 and my teachers name is Mrs Lagitupu. This term we are learning about outta space and planets. my favorite teacher at school is Ms Tito because she is so cool and is funny. My best friends are Awhina, Stephanie and Maranda. We sometimes just walk around the school and talk about what we’ve been doing.

I have 2 sisters and 1 brother. There names are Taeshell, Shelley and T.j. We always go somewhere every holidays and get heaps of presents during Christmas time. When it’s a nice day we go for walks through the reserve to the Point England beach. When we get to the beach we play all sorts of games like soccer and Shelley and T.j play on the park.

Next year I am really looking forward to seeing all my friends and finding out what class I’m in.

My Term 4 Highlights

Term 4 Highlights

This term I really enjoyed learning about the solar system and how planets rotate around the sun. My favorite thing was blowing up balloons and making them represent the planets. I liked learning about the planets because I learnt alot and sometimes it felt like I was in space.

Next year I really hope that we can do more fun things and learn so much more.

What does it mean to be a year 8?

You might be thinking, what does it mean to be a year 8 student? This is what I think being a year 8 student is all about.

WHAT MAKES A GOOD ROLE-MODEL?
Being a year 8 starts off with role-modes and you don’t just have to be a role-model for the younger children but for adults too. To be a role-model for me is always doing the right thing and taking charge of my learning.

WHO IS SOMEONE IN YEAR 8 THAT HAS BEEN A GOOD ROLE-MODEL?
Next year I really want to be like some of the year 8’s from this year. I think that Sela, Helen and Tia are really great and they take full responsibility for everything that they do.

WHO WOULD MAKE A GOOD ROLE-MODEL?
I think that people that should be a good leader next year have to show people the right thing and have respect for visitors, teachers, adults and students too. There is a 50/50 chance that I might be a leader for the school.

WHAT IS ONE BIG GOAL THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO ACHIEVE NEXT YEAR?
The goals that I am going to achieve are being a house leader and also helping others around the school.

What I Am Looking Forward To Being A Year 8

Next Year As A Year 8
Next year as a year 8 student I am really looking forward to being a great example to the younger children and being one of the house captains. I would like to be a house captain because I think I can encourage other students to carry on and never give up. I am actually really excited for next year, and working towards achieving my goals. One of my goals for next year is to work towards getting a scholar ship so that I can get into a great college to have a good education.

I’m going to work hard next year, to be a good role-model not only to my class but to the rest of the school and make my teacher’s proud.

Athletics Day

“GET UP!” my mum said to me. “You have athletics day and you can’t be late.” I got up and looked at the time”OH NO, it’s already 7:00 o’clock, I ran to my draws and got ready with a bunch of blue clothes because I am in Tainui.

Wednesday morning we had athletics day and it started at exactly 9:15. We lined up in our age
groups and walked to our first event, soft-ball throw. I was the 3rd person to get up and show how far I could throw. I swung my arms over and the soft-ball flew through the air like a bird flapping it’s wings. At the end of this event I didn’t come any placing but I felt like I did better than other people in my age group. The girls that came 1st, 2nd and 3rd looked very excited and to be in the top 3 and have to admit that they were really good.

3 events later it was time for the 100 meter race. Nervously walking up to the starting line I felt butterflies flying all around in my stomach. I was trying to think about doing my best and coming 1st, 2nd or 3rd. I just stood there like a statue and then I heard a sound, CLAP!!!!!! and the race began. After that I looked straight and tried to concentrate on the race. I saw Thora past me and then Toreka. Sprinting towards the end I could see Seni-Mino right behind me, but I had already made it past the finishing line. I came 3rd and I was very ecstatic. As it came to the 2nd race I didn’t come anything but I was happy that I tried my best.

After the race my sore ankle came back to me and I just didn’t feel like doing anything. I limped side to side hoping that I didn’t have to do any more events that involved much running. High jump was next and I wasn’t looking forward to it. I slowly jogged towards the place mat and I didn’t even get a inch past the pole. After two turns and had gotten out and sat down on the grass singing away to the music. The sun was hot and most people were so glad that athletics day was almost over.

We had a great day and I hope next year my ankle won’t be there.
